Verdict: Extremely fast and a stirring entertainer, expect a 7th instalment coming up.
The sixth instalment of Fast & Furious is here and seriously they are six of these! But the thing is that they don't really disappoint you on the whole. They are few kickass action sequences that you really anticipate and hot chicks that we usually expect from a Fast & Furious franchise.
So the plot revolves around a team of gangsters controlled by Shaw (Luke Evans) who takes down a military convoy and were in search for some codes which were rather highly confidential and worth billions. So Luke Hobbs (Dwayne The Rock Johnson) who is in charge of this case got no choice left and asks help of the retired international criminal Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and also promises Dom that he will set him and his team free from all the charges on them. So Dom gathers his team again who were in different countries enjoying their status. The team reunites once again for the task setup by Hobbs.
The plot looks simple right! So! How about The Rock kicking some ass? Its been a while watching him in fully action packed role right? He's got something more to prove himself in this movie and he exactly utilises everything. His build up and personality were just a treat to watch. Vin Diesel is the same badass guy again and this time we rather see him more responsible and caring for their loved ones. But small kinda thing that we actually see him and Paul Walker less in those car racing sequences. That's a bit reduced in this movie, but you can get some really exciting action sequences rather than car racing ones.
The remaining cast had done a good job. They just need to act accordingly, don't need to prove themselves as an actor in this kinda movies. Michelle Rodriguez, back from the dead, has been given a slightly interesting role and the main thing in the movie.
The direction from Justin Lin was just superior, he planned everything well and trusted to do the action sequences in a practical way. He dint mostly seek for the help of CGI. Everything looks real and lively. He believed in his work, got a well scripted story with those funny amusable scenes at times, emotion, drama everything. And the camera work by Stephen F. Windon was just brilliant, a total eye candy. Few shots were shot from during the action scenes were really a joy to watch.
They are few action sequences which are needed to be shared here. Mainly when Dom and his crew take down the war tank lead by the criminals and the climax cargo flight sequence were just tremendous. A must watch!
And why not in 3D? I really should say that they had taken a bright decision to film this in 2D version. I mean 3D was just awful, I really hate it. It goes nowhere in few scenes, the pictures goes dull and the thing is that it really is annoying putting on glasses to watch.
Finally the movie provides you everything. You'l see The Rock back in action, cat fights, car chases, drama everything. And yet an serious immense turn after the post credits, so do not leave the theatre after the fairy tale ending. This is just a perfect action thriller which is never let down by anything except for few things which are excusable. Watch it together with your friends you'l have a perfect fun around.
