Zombies! Zombies everywhere! And this time they aint funny no more. These creatures are fast, scary and can take on everything they intend to. And btw! 200 million dollars for this zombie apocalyptic movie? :|
The world is under attack and this time it aint any nuclear war, some kinda flu got blowed out and inturn zombies got originated all over the world. In a devastating domain, Brad Pitt (Gerry) is been abjured back to his work in UN organization and is appealed to investigate what's happening around. In his exploration Gerry finds out few things which are helpful for the annihilation of the current cause. Does he succeed in his mission? Is there any kinda egress from this delinquent? Find out in World War Z!!
The main issue of the film is that the outlook in the trailer and first looks, thats the kinda movie that is not shown in the most part. We expect a thriller based zombie action film, the movie deals with these kinda things around but not completely. There's lots of emotional drama filled around which is needed and the explanation given for the things happening around dealt the foremost part of the film.
Talking about the action! The movie guarantees few kickass sequences, mainly when the zombies attack the people. They crawl and run in a weird way, they scare people, all these things entertain us and really keeps us engaged into the movie. Dont expect Brad Pitt beating the shit around the zombies, dont do that! He really dont!
And the other issue I had with the film is that, why they spent a 200 million dollar for this film? Thats absolutely not needed, the CGI dint intude much in the movie nor the set decoration. Where did they spent that huge amount is still a anonymous thing.
Direction from Marc Foster, the guy conveyed a different kinda thriller, its not just singly based on action, its filled with drama. Characterizations were given importance and I believe thats the right approach in dealing these kinda films. I can say that he only got wrong in the production department.
CGI was decent, few scenes I mentioned above were really a treat to watch, it looked real and practical. And I recommend to watch the movie in 2D format, 3D was a disappointment, it looked dark and gloomy at times which was quite a let down.
Finally, World War Z is a decent thriller, few action packed sequences were a worth a watch. And I can see a sequel coming around, they left a few references which can be dealt in the future. Go check it out! And dont get hyped out by the trailers, go with low expectations and this will surely entertain you.
My Rating - 3/5
