The Collection Movie Review
The Collection is a 2012 horror film, a sequel to the 2009 film, The Collector and this from the writers of Saw 4, 5, 6 & 7
Plot : Elena's (Emma Fitzpatrick) friends takes her to a warehouse party and after witnessing her boyfriend hooking up with another blonde she leaves the dance floor and enters into a isolated room where she finds a heavy box and doubtfully opens it and founds Arkin (Josh Stewart) who was badly cut and injured.Arkin tries to grab Elena but she escapes from him and intiates a series of traps which were arranged by 'The Collector' leads to the death of all people except for Elena and Arkin while Arkin escapes from the warehouse but Elena was crushed into the box by 'The Collector' and takes her to his mysterious place.'Arkin' is been hospitalised, Elena's father sets up a secret team to rescue Elena before she's been killed. The rescue teams demands Arkin to locate the 'Collector's' place, being kidnapped by The Collector in the first part Arkin marks the turns in their journey with a series of cuts.Arkin leads the team to a hotel which is been abandoned years ago.The other part of the movie deals with how Arkin and the team rescues Elena from the 'The Collectors' traps and the other people who were driven insane with drugs which were implanted by the psychopathic killer (The Collector).
Cast & Crew : Marcus Dunstan (Director) falls short in his skills in many levels as this thriller dint scare or impress. It starts out interesting but gets real quick as it progresses. The dull look of the set will definitely feels a bit annoying.Josh Stewart doesnt suit for the heroic material but there has to be a saviour at the end.Emma Fitzpatrick doesnt seem helpless throughout the film.
On the whole if you're into these kind off blood shackling thrillers like the Saw Series etc. i suggest you to go watch "The Collection" and others just regret it. This thriller has some places which you might enjoy but in the end it just turns you off.
My Rating - 2/5
