Django Unchained - Review
Django Unchained is a 2012 film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino starring Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington and Samuel L. Jackson.
Plot : In 1858 two years before the civil war, a group of slaves who were monitored by the Speck Bros. were stopped by the bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz), as he requests the Speck Bros. to free Django (Jamie Foxx) cause he knew about the plantations around the city. Schultz somehow frees Django by killing one of the Speck brother and leaving the other to the slaves.
Django leads Schultz to Brittle brothers uopn his request and encounters them. Having done with the agreement Schultz offers Django a horse, $75 and frees him from slavery. Meanwhile after collecting some rewards Django and Schultz head off on a mission to rescue Django's wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) who was treated as a slave under Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCarpio) a ruthless plantation owner of Candyland. Does Django successfully rescue his wife facing all the obstacles is the remainig part.
Cast : Jamie Foxx plays the role of Django a angry man filled with revenge aganist the white people and was exactly suitable for the role. Christoph Waltz who had been nominated for the best supporting actor in Oscars gave another brilliant performance as a good companion of Django. Leonardo DiCarpio had given his best as Calvin Candie the brutal owner and is the main highlight of the film. Leonardo is well deserved for the Oscar as he too got nominated for the best supporting actor with his homie Waltz.
Crew : Quentin Tarantino (Director) brings back the old western film taking like some occasional pulpy quick zoom and some large amount of blood spilling out from the bodies during encounters. Screenplay was exceptional just like his previous Kill Bill etc. background soundtracks were quite impressive and were apt for this kind off genre.
Final Verdict : Django Unchained had Oscar worthy acting, a classic screenplay and overall just a great Tarantino film. It will definetly be popping up on awards list, Finally, if you're into this genre of films like drama etc. go watch Django.
My Rating - 4/5
