The Last Stand Movie - Review
The Last Stand is a hollywood action thriller written by Andrew Knauer and directed by Kim Ji-woon.
Firstly this is a Arnold Schwarzenegger starrer BOOMM! So all over the movie do not expect nothing but BOOMM BOOMM BOOMM!!!
Plot : One dirty night in Las Vegas, drug cartel leader Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega) is set up on a convoy but he simply break loose in the middle and escapes on a newly modified Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1 with one female officer as his hostage. Agent John Bannister (Forest Whitaker) sets up barricades sends a SWAT team on a chopper but they dont finally workout as Cortez continues to flee. Meanwhile in Sommerton, Arizona Sheriff Ray Owens (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is in search for the local farmer who has been suddenly found missing from the last evening and later found dead. Officers Jerry Bailey (Zach Gilford) and Sarah Torrance (Jaimie Alexander) follow the tire marks outside the residence in order to find some sort of evidence which lead to Cortez's men who were constructing a bridge across the US/Mexican border for the final assault. After the ruinous shootout between them, Jerry is been shot and dies before Owens rushes him to the nearby help center. Agent John plots out the fugitive's presence and Owens and his team of 4 are been set up for the final play down.
Cast : Arnold, ohh he's too old now to continue with his truly dynamic bad-ass characters but he made an exact comeback of what we expect from him like the ultimate one liners and the dreadful slaughtering sequences. John Knoxville dint share much of screen appearance except for his weird and funny scenes and the others were just stoic and promising.
Direction : Direction from Jee-woon Kim was ok. Maybe he doesnt have much to tell about, cause it only has the *action* thing. The normal funny incidents in between a outrageous fight were pretty much normal when compared to previous Arnie's films.
Final Verdict : This is carried out without any affectations. A fully packed action thriller right from the beginning which is recommended if you love to experience action from Arnie and something blowing up for every ten minutes.
My Rating - 3/5
