Verdict: “An enjoyable and a heartfelt coming-of-age narrative”.
The Kings of Summer pretty much imparts you the story of three teenager boys who were displeased with their parents, come to a decision to spend their summer far away in the woods secretly without any intrusions from the outside world.
Concentrating on the coming-of-age genre, the movie was an absolute delight to watch. It explicates few things about how emotions play a major role in our ordinary lives. Few little things may hurt you or may inspire you in taking brighter decisions, that's pretty much been told throughout the movie which was absolutely true. Even so, there's a lot to take from the movie, either the negatives nor the positives.
Director, Jordan Vogt-Roberts was solid with his direction, his emotive and uproarious narrative style worked out really well along with the tone which was really well balanced.
Nick Robinson, Gabriel Basso, Moisés Arias as the three teens are promising and were quite fun to watch. The chemistry between them worked out really well. And I absolutely concur that they are the perfect fits for their characters which were quite similar with their age groups.
As a final point, The Kings of Summer is an enjoyable and a heartfelt story that we often experience. A well enlightened coming-of-age narrative which impresses only if you're an enduring individual who sticks with a tranquil vibe around.
