Verdict: “A perfect movie to end the summer movie season”
The World's End is the third instalment of the Cornetto trilogy. Well! If you're not fond about the Cornetto trilogy, its an alliance of Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright who previously collaborated for Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Dealt with a diverse plot in each movie, the trinity is back again for the grand finale.
Gary (Simon Pegg) is a manchild who wants to reunite with his childhood friends and complete the Golden Mile, a mission to pop-in 12 different pubs in their hometown Newton Haven. Wrangling about the whole thing, they come to a decision to join Gary for the trek. After few regular accomplishments in a series of pubs, creepy things start to happen and they ascertain that the whole town was tainted by these ink blooded robots.
I was a bit worried till the first act of the movie, that it might be on the regular scale. But when it got to the point it had loads of hilarious things going around with enjoyable humour.
The swift zoom-in and editing effects recalled the Edgar Wright's style. And the action sequences were wonderfully choreographed with a slight touch of amusement.
In addition with the drama, the dialouges in the movie were well written with its strong screenplay, few references were left in the movie, which are quite hard to discover on your first hit. That really made me think about the movie once it's finished. And with its trivial strokes of emotion, the movie elevated the curve by making sense of things happening around.
Simon Pegg along with his whole gang had a good time around, the characters were heartfelt and are portrayed with perfection. The sensitive ingenuous behaviour of every character was entertaining even if its on a serious scale.
To conclude, The World's End is a perfect movie in every aspect and if you're really into the adventurous comedy genre definitely go check out the movie. Even if you're not a big fan try to give it a shot. Its undoubtedly one of the best comedies of the year and I strongly recommend it.
