Verdict: “Extremely fun to watch and a decent extension to the Marvel cinematic universe”.
The main plot of the movie circles around Dark Elf Malekith who intends to destroy the whole universe by using his unsolidified weapon Aether and to take his desired revenge against Asgard and it's civilization after being trounced by Bor (Odin's father) and his army.
Meanwhile, Thor fears about Jane's disguise and voyages to Earth. After discovering the fact that she's been infected by Aether, Thor takes her to Asgard seeking for some kinda medical help.
After the Dark Elves invasion on Asgard, Thor decides to team up with his evil brother Loki in taking down the Dark army and also to protect the nine realms of the entire universe.
As per the amendment factor, Thor 2 is a step up in imposing visuals and enormous action sequences when to compared to it predecessor, following with the humour. But things were flat insipid at times which slightly takes you out of the experience. The comedic sequences between Darcy (Kat Dennings) and her intern was completely annoying and didn't quite mingle up with the movie.
The movie did spent more time in Asgard as we get to know further things more about it's civilization and culture, consequently the cinematography and set design are astounding and was completely gorgeous to look at.
Commencing with his familiarity of the popular TV show Game of Thrones, Alan Taylor is in fine form here. His proficiency and vision in capturing immense action sequences worked out in a comprehensive way and shaped out the movie really well and made it a fun watch.
Chris Hemsworth's charisma and persona is captivating, at this very point his portrayal of Thor is unsurpassed and undoubtedly he's the perfect fit as Thor and cannot be easily replaced. Tom Hiddleston as Loki is the strong asset of the movie, he's extremely amazing with his sneaky look and is a complete treat to watch him teaming up with Thor and kicking some ass. Natalie Portman's character is pretty much essential and significant and she does a good job with her portrayal.
Indeed, I've got few flaws with the movie regarding the villain's boring insubstantial character and the lack of overwhelming sequences and the additional humour in the climax was disturbing and didn't work out on the most part.
Nevertheless, Thor: The Dark World is a fun gratifying experience. The movie did have some serious weak spots but it's pleasurable vibe and stunning visuals made the movie a definite watch which you'l completely enjoy.
PS: Wait for the two end credit scenes after watching, don't rush out of the theatre after the movie ends. And the movie was not spectacular in 3D, so if you do have an option for 2D, better prefer it.
My Rating - 3.5/5
Grade - B (Worth a watch!)
