Note: This is totally my opinion about the movie. So dont start shitting around in the comment box.
The controversial master and a unique personality in his own "RGV" is back and this time he made sure that his movie makes some frigging sense. I dont say that this a super comeback from Verma, but a decent one. Comparing to all the shit he previously made this is a far better thing that he attempted. He was not careless and joking this time, he's damn serious in his research, work and presentation and that exactly makes a complete movie.
Gotta mention about the research he had done, its absolutely not perfect but in the small information he had gathered he exactly delivered it flawlessly and the emotions that the terrorists carried out were well imagined and been produced in the short tiny parts he actually had. Likewise, we are not actually were aware about Kasab's feelings before the massacre, that needs to be furnished in an imaginative way and thats were Verma actually impressed me.
About the plot, as you all are pretty much aware of it. Its a group of 10 outrageous couriers being sent to Mumbai by hijacking an fishing boat in the mid sea. The first half is been totally steadfast to the three massacres happened in the Leopold cafe, Taj hotel and the CST railway station and it eventually proceeds with all the things happened after, including a few heavy loaded sentiment panoramas between Nana and Kasab and finally the death of Kasab concludes the movie.
Talking about the cast, the one who played Kasab's character is amazingly amazing, he's fresh, he's passionate, emerging and moreover he exactly looks like Kasab we've seen in the pictures around. His acting skills probably were not similar to a debutant. A perfect potrait of Kasab. Nana Patekar was calm as a lion in the first half with all his dramatic expressions and in the second half he's dreadful with his delivery and intent was magnificent.
Cinematography needs a special approbation, the technique he used in capturing the practical events without any CGI work done was actually a tuff call to the DOP, but he never let down in his parts and was luminous. Background score too was splendid which is pretty much needed when you attempt a non-commercial genre.
These kinda thrillers like the Zero Dark Thirty and 26/11 were pretty much needed to actually show up in the public. But for me, this flick entertained me in all aspects. I haven't seen any documentaries before about this incident and this is the first time i completely realised what happened out there which was explained quite well. I dont say this is less open, many things were not clarified, Rgv is one piece of shit. As per me and the fresh minded this is pretty much informative and was enough.
Finally, like/dislike we have to appreciate Verma for a brave attempt. Many directors dont really think or dream about directing these kinda flicks but a braveheart like Rgv never looks back for anything. This a feast to all the well wishers of Rgv and to all the haters do not talk shit about this film which you dont really fit to watch. PEACE!
My Rating - 3/5 (Good)
