Produced by Bala himself under the banner of B Studios, the film has been adapted from Eriyum Panikadu a Tamil translation of the 1969 novel Red Teaby Paul Harris Daniel which deals with Harris encounter with enslaved tea plantation workers in the Madras Presidency in colonial India.
Performances! In a Bala film, you expect the actors to be at their best. Atharava has made an impact, he has worked very hard which can be seen in the film. Vedhika amazes you with the variety of expressions in her performance. Dhansika and every actor has come up with perfect portrayals including 200 junior artists which enrich the story telling.
Technically Paradesi’s team has worked in sync with the script. Chezhian’s camera work is stands top noch of the technical aspects of the film. The first look of the village and the top-angle camera in the climax are good. GV. Prakash songs and BGM stands as the back bone of the movie.
Bala, the man who has revolutionized Tamil cinema with meaningful and realistic films like- Sethu, Nandha and Pithamagan, Naan Kadavul has made another masterpiece with his latest Paradesi. The film touches your soul and makes you salute the brave director for making this authentic milestone classic. It's a much darker film than his previous works.
Paradesi: A new Milestone in the history of Tamil Cinema !
I would like to end the Review with a salute to Director Bala. _/\_
