Crossing all the hurdles, "Ulaganayagan" Padmashree Dr. Kamal Hassan releases his ‘Vishwaroopam' in Tamilnadu today. After facing ‘n’ number of problems like DTH issue problem from theatre owners, Muslim political parties protest, Tamil Nadu government’s ban and several postponing and highly positive reviews from Media, other state audience and other country people the movie has opened into tremendous opening in Tamil Nadu.
This is Kamal's 4th Directorial venture after "Chachi 420", "Hey Ram" and "Virumandi"; Vishwaroopam is an action thriller revolving around Afghan Terrorism.
Plot: The story begins in New York where Nirupama (Pooja Kumar), a nuclear oncologist is leading an unhappy married life with Vishwanath (Viz) (Kamal Hassan) who is a Kathak teacher. She learns from the private detective that Vishwanath is not a Hindu but a Muslim. When she is shocked already, a terrorist group gets into their house and takes the couple with them. It is later revealed that Vishwanath is himself a terrorist, and that he is a part of the ‘Al-Qaeda’ group. The Al-Qaeda is planning to plant a Nuclear Bomb in New York and Vishwanath is well-aware of it. How? Why does he act as a Hindu? What does the terrorist group do with Kamal? What’s their plan? Find the answers in the nearest theatres.
Cast: The film has a perfect cast crew. Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Rahul Bose, Nasser, Jaideep Ahlawat, Sekhar Kapoor and all others have done a great job. Even at the age of 58, Legend Kamal Hassan does extraordinary performances . Be it, as a Kathak dancer with feminine qualities or a terrorist, you can see Perfection in his acting. He looks terrific in the Jihadi warrior getup.
Crew: Vishwaroopam is Technically Brilliant. Shankar-Eshaan-Loys music was good though it didn't sync well in some scenes. Sonu Varghese’s cinematography stands tall of all the technical aspect. He has brilliantly captured the Afghan Localities.
From the first scene, till the end the movie is racy and highly engaging. Scenes in Afghanistan training camp are just awesome. Kamal Hassan has done a brilliant screenplay and you will wonder how this Legend gets these ideas. Hats Off to him.
Final Verdict: Vishwaroopam is a racy action thriller. Kamal Hassan deserves a standing ovation. All I can say is waiting for "Vishwaroopam-2"
