15. Singam II | Director- Hari

Singam 2 is out and out racy Action-Masala film. Can’t say that it’s better than its prequel, but it’s better than Surya’s last two dull flicks.

14. Pandiya Naadu | Director- Suseenthiran

Pandiya Naadu is stirring, watch out for Vishal and Bharathiraaja sir’s bravura acting and for the last 15 minutes of the movie! Don’t miss it!

13. Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam | Director- Ponram

Mischievous Siva Karthikeyan, Soori with his comical one-liners, attracting Sri Divya and impressive Satyaraj make this movie a neat family-entertainer.

12. Haridas | Director- G.N.R.Kumaravelan

A wonderful, thought provoking movie, realistic picturisation, commendable performance from the actors, make this one of the best Tamil movies in recent times.

11. Ethir Neechal | Director- R.S.Durai Senthil Kumar

This is a Paisa Vasool entertainment movie with Laugh-riot first half and too serious and emotional second half involving the main plot of the movie. A neat entertainer.

10. Thanga Meenkal | Director: Ram

A heart-warming emotional movie brilliantly made with a strong performance from the cast. Yuvan Shankar Raja carried the movie with his bgm, it was exceptionally good. A Must watch!

9. Arrambam | Director- Vishnuvardhan

Arrambam was a big diwali treat for all hardcore “Thala” fans. Director Vishnuvardhan fulfilled all expectations and gave an action-entertainer with a serious public message.

8. Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara | Director- Gokul

Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara has much rib tickling moments, will make you laugh hard and also gives a cool message in the end. Vijay Sethupathy steals the show as Sumar Moonji Kumar. Go for IAB and you’ll finally be totally happy with it.

7. Onaayum Aattukkuttiyum | Director- Mysskin

One of the best Suspense thrillers from Mysskin. Highly engaging plot, brilliant screenplay, intelligent narration, magnificent BGM from Ilaiyaraaja makes this movie more thrilling.

6. Neram | Director- Alphonse Putharen

The film is highly entertaining with its screenplay, romance scenes and few hilarious scenes. Alphonse has done a very good job in his debut.

5. Maryan | Director- Bharath Bala

Maryan portrays some intense story of struggle for survival and deals with many emotions of love and separation. Watch out for the leads marvellous performances, eye-pleasing visuals, ear-pleasing songs and director’s narration.

4. Raja Rani | Director- Atlee

Raja Rani is a well made classy romantic flick by Debutant Atlee who has very well handled the cast and crew to make a breezy feel good movie.

3. Paradesi | Director- Bala

Bala, the man who has revolutionized Tamil cinema with meaningful and realistic films like- Sethu, Nandha, Pithamagan and Naan Kadavul has made another masterpiece with his Paradesi. The film touches your soul and makes you salute the brave director for making this authentic milestone classic. It's a much darker film than his previous works. A new Milestone in the history of Tamil Cinema!

2. Soodhu Kavvum | Director- Nalan Kumarasamy

All credits goes to director Nalan Kumarasamy, he establishes himself as a director to watch out for his laugh-riot. He has handled this dark comedy excellently which is not that easy to handle. Soodhu Kavvum is extremely engaging movie with nifty, clever characters and highly entertaining situations.

1. Vishwaroopam | Director- Kamal Hassan

From the first scene, till the end the movie is racy and highly engaging. Scenes in Afghanistan training camp are just awesome. Kamal Hassan has done a brilliant screenplay and you will wonder how this Legend gets these ideas. Hatsoff to him. Kamal Hassan deserves a standing ovation. All I can say is wait for Vishwaroopam-2.

Like it? Hate it? You all know these are only my personal picks and might differ from your list and taste to movies. This may not be the perfect list but sure it’s a genuine one.
