Hey there guys, 2013 had finally came to an end and it's been a busy year for Bollywood and is also the most disappointing one too. Frankly! I'm not completely blown away with 80 % of the movies but few really left me in surprise and I'm really excited to list them in my Top 5.
Honourable Mention: The Lunch Box
5. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani | Director: Ayan Mukerji
To my surprise YJHD impressed me for the most part. I agree that they are few plot holes throughout the movie. But in the end I was filled with happiness and joy after watching the movie and that's all I expect.
4. Raanjhanaa | Director: Anand Rai
A well acted and perfectly directed love drama. Raanjhanaa impressed with it's genuine and innate approach and I'm absolutely pleased with Dhanush's incredible performance which was easily one of the best in 2013.
3. Kai Po Che! | Director: Abhishek Kapoor
Another simple and a seamless attempt for a film which doesn't have any star cast or audience fascination. Kai Po Che! enthralled me right from the beginning till the end as it left me in surprise.
2. Madras Cafe | Director: Shoojit Sircar
Dealt with a debatable story line, Madras Cafe was unique and is directed perfectly as it needs to be. The unfeigned hard-hitting truth was really well shown and well informed which improved my knowledge on early historic events.
1. Shahid | Director: Hansal Mehta
The most moving and a passionate biopic of an unknown individual. The unpleasant life he's been through in a ghastly environment, the hard work and the struggle that he experienced are tragic. Shahid is my top pick of the year and by far the most underrated movie of the year. Definitely check it out if you haven't.
Like it? Hate it? List down your Top Five movies of the year down below and always remember that every film is subjective and you may have a better opinion than mine. So, understand that these are only my personal picks of the year and I'm quite genuine with it. Happy New Year 2014!
