Verdict: "A gruesome ride for an insane movie franchise"
Is V/H/S most likely to be the next horror movie franchise? I think so! V/H/S 2 is a sequel that really didn't disappoint me at any point. The unique concepts, the gore, the creepiness carried around was really fun to watch. And hell yes its freakin' scary.
Now the plot of V/H/S/2 deals with a simple concept where a couple break into an old abandoned house for some kinda investigation process. And they find these video tapes strewn all over the place with few television monitors, few odd clues around make them play the video tapes and they open up into several weird shorts, which are really fucked up and insane.
The movie mainly covers five shorts "Tape 49", "Clinical Trials", "A Ride in the Park", "Safe Haven" & "Slumber Party Alien Abduction". So "Tape 49" takes the initiative and opens up into the other ones. Every short deals with an different kinda note which really end up in a messed up way. Amongst all the shorts, "Safe Haven" is really bizarre and gives the biggest guilty pleasure, a real fun to watch. Its got the best ending that is really gross and unexpected. All the other shorts too were imposing, "Clinical Trials" slightly lets down a bit when compared to others.
Talking about the gore factor in the movie, it really got the best. Few shots were insanely mad and gives us that embarrassed awkward fun. Mainly in the the third short "A Ride in the Park" where the zombies tear the shit apart from the humans and all those eerie things coming out of the stomach were repellent.
The camera angles were really impressive in the movie, they don't really have any particular aim. All of them were practically handled and gives us the impression that its speaking from an individual in an unplanned way. Mainly in the second short where the camera sees through an eye, we are projected from an eye where when the particular eye blinks the camera will have a blink too. That's a different kinda approach which was really innovative and fresh. The shaky cam and the video tonic effects were widely used and were bearable at times.
The direction from all the seven directors were exciting and engaging and they deserve a special approbation for making things happen which were utterly needed in the future.
Finally, "V/H/S/2" is an insane, fast and a gruesome ride. It certainly leaves you outraged and is really impressive for an horror sequel. It will definitely beat the shit out of the horror movie lovers with some great amount of gore filled in it. Don't miss the fun, its available all over the internet for free download and rental.
